Adoption of electronic medical records will be one of the most revolutionary changes in health care technology in the coming years. ADVANCE's Colleen Mullarkey recently spoke with ATS Past President John Heffner, MD, about the benefits signing on with EMR systems.
Already some government and health care organizations are stepping in to urge medical centers to get wired. And it has been suggested adoption of EMR systems also will be a high priority in the Obama administration and will continue to be a focal point for several health care organizations like the Institute for Healthcare Improvement.
