Health care reform has gained significant momentum that is heading for a radical change to our current delivery system. Which shape the change will form is under debate, but ultimately it will focus on cost-savings. It will pay off in the long run if respiratory departments are prepared to partner with colleagues to reduce cost and better define how their practices can improve patient quality and outcomes.
