Despite how far sleep medicine has come in recent years, many questions still remain, including the long-term efficacy of CPAP treatment, the state of genomics, and the limited therapeutic options for pediatric patients with obstructive sleep apnea.

ADVANCE's Frank Visco recently spoke with Lawrence Epstein, MD, past president of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine and the regional medical director for Sleep HealthCenters in Brighton, Mass, to get his thoughts on these imposing challenges.
